About Herceg Novi
Herceg Novi sits at the western entrance to the Bay of Kotor, at the foot of Mount Orjen. The old town, Stari Grad, has the Kanli Kula amphitheatre inside its fortress, and Forte Mare was built in 1382. The 5 Danica esplanade runs for 6 km and makes the town's main walk. The town is also known as a spa and health centre, and nearby Igalo has healing sea mud. There are no long sandy beaches along the bay; the Luštica beaches of Žanjic, Mirište and Rose are reached by boat. Homes are spread over a few kilometres, nearly all with a garden, all with air conditioning, and most sleep around four.
