Bigova suits couples wanting a quiet cove village on the Montenegrin coast, about 21 minutes' drive from Tivat. Homes are small, mostly one bedroom for up to four, and are spread around the Grbalj area rather than at the water. Bigova itself is tiny, so shopping and evenings out need the car.
Bigova is a village of about a hundred people in Kotor municipality, set in a cove that shares its name, and it is the only settlement of the Grbalj region on the coast. Grbalj is a fertile farming area between Budva and the Luštica peninsula, with Mount Lovćen to the east and low hills to the west above the Adriatic, and orchards and vineyards in the south. The homes are spread around Bigova, many of them inland among the Grbalj villages, so a sea view is not a given. Evenings are quiet. The Adriatic Highway runs through Grbalj, which makes the coastal towns easy to reach by car.
The Kovački Potok stream crosses Grbalj's Mrčevo Field and empties into Jaz Bay at the western end of this beach.
