About Monsummano Terme
Monsummano Terme has about 21,000 residents and lies at 20 metres, with the hill of Monsummano Alto rising to 340 metres behind it, topped by a castle and a line of walls. The old walled village stood up there, overlooking the lower town. Main sights are the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Fontenuova, built in 1602, and the Osteria dei Pellegrini on the main square, which now houses a museum of the town and its territory. The Teatro Yves Montand stages events in Piazza del Popolo. South of town the Padule di Fucecchio wetland attracts birdwatchers. The homes are spread around the town, mostly with five bedrooms.
