Börgerende suits couples and small families on the Baltic between Warnemünde and Heiligendamm, with a stony beach and a dog beach. It is a very small village, so shops, restaurants and the sights are a short drive away.
Börgerende, officially Börgerende-Rethwisch, is a small fishing village on the Baltic between Warnemünde and Heiligendamm. The beach is mostly stony and left natural, and a former East German border watchtower stands right beside it, one of only two left on this coast. The municipality has a local history museum with a minigolf course and a playground. Nearly all the homes here are small, sleeping two to four, and most have a garden. They are spread through the village and its neighbouring area. Out of season, check what is open before you come.

The town where the Molli narrow-gauge steam railway runs to Kühlungsborn, and which has a regional crafts and products shop.
The far end of the Molli railway, and home to the other surviving East German border tower.
Rostock is about 23 minutes away by road, roughly 19 km, and the train from Rostock to Bad Doberan plus bus 119 takes about 50 minutes. A car makes the stay much easier, because the village is small and the sights are spread along the coast.
Yes. Dogs are allowed on the marked dog beach at Strandaufgang 1. There are no lifeguards there and no parking at the access itself, so use the official car park near Strandaufgang 3.
No, it is mostly stony and left in a natural state, so families after soft sand should look at the beach before booking. Beach chairs are available in limited numbers.
