Kingsand and Cawsand are twin villages on Cawsand Bay, and an old boundary marker on a house called Devon Corn still shows where Devon ended until 1844. Both have a smuggling and fishing past, and old fish cellars and boat stores remain along the shore. Kingsand Beach is sand and shingle, Girt Beach is mostly shingle with some sand, and Sandways is a short walk across the rocks. The South West Coast Path runs through the village, and Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, free and open all year, includes both villages. The homes sit within a very small area, mostly for around six people, and none has a pool.
