About Prague centre
Prague centre means the old core on both banks of the Vltava: Old Town, Josefov, Lesser Town, New Town and Vyšehrad. The historic centre has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1992. Our homes are spread over about a kilometre, so most are a walk or a short tram ride from Old Town Square, where the Astronomical Clock sits on the Old Town Hall. Many sleep five or six, and a few sleep a large group. Most streets are cobbled and trams always have right of way. In the evening the choice runs from beer halls and tearooms to opera, ballet and river cruises. Winter inversions can bring foggy, cold days.
