Růžová suits walkers and couples who want a simple base in Bohemian Switzerland, in the municipality that holds the region's highest summit. Homes are small, mostly for two to four, and there is little to do after dark, so come for the hills rather than the evenings.
Růžová is a village of around 600 people at about 320 metres, some 12 km north-east of Děčín, first mentioned in 1352. Its population fell hard over the 20th century and has only recently climbed back, so this is a quiet place. The municipality also includes Kamenická Stráň, whose folk houses are protected as a village monument zone, and its land takes in Růžovský vrch, at 619 metres the highest point of Bohemian Switzerland. The homes are all in the village itself. Evenings are for an early night before a day in the sandstone country of the national park; for more choice, drive to Děčín.

Fly to Prague. The drive from Prague Airport to Děčín takes around an hour and a half, and Růžová lies about 12 km north-east of the town. Trains run from Prague's main station to Děčín, but you will need a car for the village and trailheads.
Yes, its land reaches into it. Růžovský vrch, the region's highest point at 619 metres, lies in Růžová's municipality and within the national park.

Very. Around 600 people live here, after a long population decline, and the homes are small. Evening choice is thin, so most people cook in or drive to Děčín.
