Zaton suits larger groups who want a quiet bay village near Šibenik, with homes often sleeping eight or more. Check each listing for a pool; a promenade of about 3 km links the coves. Freshwater springs make the sea here brackish, so the water is less salty than on the open coast.
Zaton is a village of fewer than a thousand people in the north-west corner of Šibenik Bay, ringed by low hills. It is part of the City of Šibenik, and many residents work there; the local economy rests on farming, fishing and tourism. A promenade of about 3 km runs from Dobri dolac cove to Šarina draga, and the beaches at Zvizda and Šarina draga are on the north shore. The homes sit close together, and many are large, with four bedrooms or so. A rowing course built for the 1979 Mediterranean Games is still used for training.

The river park lies about 15 km from Skradin, where the Krka enters Lake Prokljan, and draws around 700,000 visitors a year.
