Why Stay in a Villa in Es Cubells
Es Cubells is for visitors who want absolute peace in a dramatic setting. Villas on these clifftops have some of the most striking sea views on the island. The seclusion is genuine — there's no resort infrastructure, no shops, and minimal nightlife. You'll need a car for everything, including buying groceries. The beaches below the cliffs are accessed by steep paths and are small and rocky. If your idea of Ibiza is clubs and beach bars, this isn't it. If you want to retreat to a private villa with a pool, enjoy the sunset from the cliffs, and venture out for dinner in nearby villages, Es Cubells is exceptional.

Two or three restaurants serve good food in a cliff-edge setting — Restaurante Es Boldado, perched on the rocks above the water, is well known for fresh fish (book in advance). Below the village, Cala d'Es Cubells is a rocky cove reached by a steep path. Cala Llentrisca nearby is another small, sheltered cove. both have clear water and reasonable snorkelling. The better-known beaches of Cala d'Hort (with the Es Vedra rock island view) and Cala Jondal are within 10-15 minutes' drive. Ibiza Town is about 20 minutes' drive and has the Dalt Vila (old walled town), restaurants, nightlife, and a harbour. Sant Josep village, about 10 minutes away, has a quiet square, a market, and several good restaurants. Sunset watching from the cliffs here is at least as good as the more famous sunset bars, without the crowds or the cocktail prices.
